Shiela Williams

Shiela Williams, age 66 of Piedmont, KS, passed away February 12, 2022 at her home. Shiela was born February 18, 1955 in Wichita, KS to Emerson and Norene (Hardy) Riley. She grew up going between Wichita and Piedmont. Shiela did not talk a lot about her childhood. But the few stories she told were very special to her. In her younger days she loved spending time with her nephews Steven and Danny. In December 1973, Shiela married Billy Whitaker and they had 4 children together. They later divorced. Shiela worked various jobs but one of her favorites was being a bartender. She met so many people making lifelong friends. Later in life she did attend school and become a CNA and worked for Windsor place helping others with their daily living needs. She was a hard worker and loved helping her clients. Shiela raised her children in a house full of music and games. There was always music playing, whether it was on the radio or Shiela was singing to her kids. She loved her family, which included her friends and her animals. If you knew Shiela, you know she was a fun-loving person who loved to laugh and have a good time. In her down time, she liked to read, especially Stephen King. Shiela is survived by her children: BJ (Rhonda) Whitaker of Dennis, KS Debbie Wise of Piedmont, KS Becky (James) Greenwood of Beloit, KS Crystal (Kelly) Vancil of Severy, KS Nephews, Danny Lee and Steven Lee Brothers, Jack Lee of Wichita, KS, and Tom (Dawn) Lee of Wichita, KS Sisters, Barbara Harrington of Iowa, and Sandy Rumford of Moline, KS 28 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Richard Lee and Robert Lee Per Shiela’s wishes, cremation has been requested. Her family will hold a Celebration of Life on February 18, 2022 at 3:00pm at the community center in Piedmont KS. There will be a small ceremony followed with a pot luck and the celebration with music and friends throughout the evening.
