Marilyn Sue Boyd, 72, of La Harpe, Kansas, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on July 29, 2026. Born on November 10, 1953, in Iola, Kansas, Marilyn lived a life defined by faith, creativity, resilience, and an unwavering love for her family. A devoted homemaker, Marilyn poured her heart into everything she touched. She was an artist, seamstress, writer, and musician a woman whose talents seemed endless and whose curiosity never faded. Her hands were rarely still, always creating, mending, crafting, or cooking something infused with care. Marilyn’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She loved God deeply and spent countless hours reading her Bible, finding comfort, guidance, and joy in its pages. Her relationship with God shaped the way she treated others with compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to connect. She had a passion for quilting and all forms of arts and crafts, turning simple materials into beautiful expressions of love. In the kitchen, Marilyn was nothing short of magic. Cooking was her second language, and you could taste her passion in every dish she prepared. Her meals were more than food they were memories, comfort, and togetherness. Marilyn loved the outdoors, especially time spent camping and fishing at the lake. She thrived on new challenges and approached every obstacle with determination. Even when she didn’t succeed, she gave her best effort and inspired those around her to do the same. She was adventurous, spirited, and endlessly curious. Above all, Marilyn loved people. She cherished her family and valued every moment spent with them. She stayed connected with friends near and far — some she spoke with daily, others less often — but always with genuine interest and an open heart. She was someone you could talk to about anything, someone who listened, encouraged, and cared. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Joseph Boyd, of 22 years; her sister, Lori; her brothers, David and Bill; and five of her children: Shelly, Karen, Shari, Rachel, and Chad. She also leaves behind many grandchildren and great‑grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her love and legacy. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Deena, and her son, Devon. Her love for her children both those still here and those who went before her was immeasurable and everlasting. A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be August 8, 2026, at 2 PM at High Point Cowboy Church, 204 E. 4th St., Colony, Kansas. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the remarkable woman who touched so many lives. Marilyn loved to love and she did so fiercely, generously, and without hesitation. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
