Jim C. Hunt

James "Jim" Clifford Hunt, II, a beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on August 30, 1952, in Wichita, Kansas, to James and Roberta (Goodway) Hunt, Jim’s life was a testament to his hardworking spirit and love for family and friends. His early years were marked by the family’s travels as his father worked in construction, eventually settling in Fredonia, Kansas. Jim graduated from Fredonia High School in 1970 and forged a successful career in the construction industry as a welder and heavy equipment operator. His dedication to his work is reflected in his employment with several respected companies including RK Steel, A-Lert Construction, Sherwood Construction, F&H Insulation, and Coleman in Wichita. Jim’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to own and operate The Bridge game room in Fredonia and later The Blue Top in Cherryvale, where he further connected with his community. Beyond his professional life, Jim cherished his family above all else. He was known for his infectious laughter, his love of music – often strumming his guitar – and his legendary “EPIC Parties,” gatherings around a bonfire with friends, filled with music and camaraderie. These gatherings perfectly captured his generous spirit and his ability to bring people together. Jim is survived by his daughter, Destinee Dye of Guthrie, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Kinsley and Rhyse; his brothers, David Lewis and wife JoLynn of Wichita, Kansas; Randy Hunt and wife Pat of Fredonia, Kansas; Jerry Hunt and wife Sylvia of Cherryvale, Kansas; Kim Hunt and wife Paula of Fredonia, Kansas; his sister, Robin Vincen and husband Brian of Cherryvale, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Roberta Hunt, and nephews Bradley Lewis and Justin Vincen. A Celebration of Life will be held at Jim’s residence, 14256 500 RD, Neodesha, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 7, 2025, to honor his memory and celebrate the life he lived to the fullest.
