Gail Lawrence

Gwendolyn Gail Lawrence, known to many as "Gail," passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024. Born on November 19, 1951, Gail lived a life filled with love, family, and dedication to those around her. Gail is survived by her beloved husband, Johnny Lawrence. The two were married on March 1, 1968, sharing 56 years of love, partnership, and cherished memories. She is also survived by her daughters, Gayla and her husband Rick Ratzlaff, and Leah and her husband Jeremiah Hoesli, both of Fredonia. Her cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Jordon, Chase, Brandon, Kaden, Ashlynn, Bella, Logan, and Bristol, were a great joy in her life. She also enjoyed loving on her great grandkids Kolt, Weston, and Liv (with 2 more on the way). Her brother Dale Fischer and Rhonda Hendricks of Elk City. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Kevin, her parents Clarence and Dorothy Fischer, and her siblings, Guyla Harlan and Leonard O'Neal. A devoted stay-at-home mom, Gail found joy in raising her children and later in being a proud grandmother. She poured her love into her family, creating a home filled with warmth and laughter. In addition to caring for her family, Gail worked for many years at the City Drug Store of Fredonia, where her friendly smile and kind heart were felt by everyone who walked through the door. She attended LaFontaine High School, where Gail was an accomplished vocalist, a talent that touched many lives. She carried her love for music and faith into her community as a longtime member of LaFontaine Christian Church. A celebration of Gail's life will be held to honor the warmth, kindness, and strength she brought to her family and friends, on Friday November 8th at the Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia at 1 p.m. Visitation will be held Thursday November 7th from 5-7 p.m. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those she loved and those who loved her. Gail will be forever missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength will live on. She leaves behind a reminder that, like the song she loved, there's always a brighter place "over the rainbow" where dreams live on.
